Johan was part of the team that made a film about the work of Youth Cancer Trust. As a charity that deals with young people living with cancer, it was imperative that the team was sensitive to the youngsters and any issues of late effects they may have caused by cancer and its treatment. Johan was brilliant on the day and made everyone feel very relaxed and able to speak candidly about their lives and experiences. We were very pleased with the outcome of the film and felt it represented the young people and the charity perfectly. I thoroughly recommend him as a film maker.
Johan was fast and efficient and did a great job. We just had a day for the shooting and he got our idea perfectly, which is not always easy due to the medical-technical nature of our products. During the editing process, he was proactive and communicated well whenever he saw problems. I would work again with him anytime.
Johan is an incredibly talented and fantastically professional filmmaker. He listened carefully to our requirements, advised us based on his thorough experience and captured our event with the upmost discretion. A draft video was sent to us only a few days later which we didn’t even need to edit before sharing with the world. Would highly recommend.
We worked with Johan earlier this year to produce a sensitive charity film with some of our members. From start to finish he has been an absolute pleasure to work with and has gone over and above on what has been a very challenging project. We would not hesitate to recommend him.
Johan made a short film for the Charity, Bone Cancer Research Trust (BCRT) in 2015 as a Freelancer for the National Health Channel. The Staff and Trustees were very pleased with both the way that the film was made by Johan and the results. He was flexible with changes we wanted and great to work with. Overall I would definitely use him again.
I worked with Johan on a National Health Channel film at one of the rural hospitals AHP partners with in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. We place doctors in rural facilities and was doing a documentary to showcase our work. We interviewed doctors from the UK that we placed at the facility for the film. Filming in a hospital is particularly challenging as one is dealing with issues related to privacy and patients. Interviewing a doctor is also not that easy as their patients are their first priority. Johan dealt with this exceptionally well. He showed great sensitivity towards doctors and took extra care to set the hospital management at ease regarding the type of footage he was shooting. He also went the extra mile, looking for different types of shots and exploring the hospital grounds to ensure he shot everything he needed. Johan was a real pleasure to work with on the day. I felt he really understood the context of our work. The film he delivered afterwards was of exceptional quality and we were really happy with the final product. He has given AHP a valuable tool to market rural South Africa to prospective candidates who want to work here. I would recommend Johan any time!
